Course overview
The focus of this course explores using learning intentions and success criteria to make teaching an intentional activity. Participants will learn how to differentiate success criteria, use them to explain what they mean, and as a scaffold for students’ responses.

- Understand the importance of clear learning intentions and success criteria in formative assessment.
- Learn practical techniques for using learning intentions and success criteria in classroom practice.
- Understand the potential pitfalls of scaffolding students’ responses too much and the importance of desirable difficulties in learning.
- Learn the benefits of starting with samples of work rather than rubrics or descriptions of quality.
